Upon arriving at this place, it's all too familiar, you're halfway out the door. So what's pulling you back into it?
From here it’s too dark to see but my intuition reads
that there was a ghost standing beside you,
offering the most tempting hospitality,
so take it up as if it's you waiting for me,
to step inside so we can share the same story.

And so it goes, it goes away.
I never wanted to stay in this place,
when following all of these footsteps my own are so much harder to retrace.

You never know just what you're going through,
looking in the mirror it can't tell you.
So what's pulling you back into it?
From here it's too dark to see but I can read,
there was a voice deep inside you, questioning the most tempting of things.
What will you take away? What will your story say?

Wait, there's no way I can keep up this pace,
following these footsteps becoming harder to retrace.

And the story that you wrote it's not your own, it's not even close, the story that you wrote, it's not yours.
